Description

During late winter/early spring you can increase the ratio of Sugar to water (2 to 1 ratio), this ensures the bee colony's are fully nourished in preparation for the busy summer months. When feeding this way it is important to either use the Bee Saver or other natural resources such as twigs or pebbles - this allows the bees to access the sugar syrup while minimizing drowning.

Dimensions (LWH): approx. 492mm x 388mm x 82mm (external of body approx. 456 x 352 x 80mm)

NOTE: Caution should be taken when using top feeders with migratory lids or our Hive Doctor Therma-Lid as water may enter the hive during periods of wet weather. Best suited for use with lid styles that cover the joint between the top box and the feeder.

HANDY TIP: Studies suggest placement of sugar syrup in hives is best done simultaneously towards the evening to minimize any tendency for bees to rob the hives that are fed; by simultaneously feeding all hives in the area this further lowers the tendency for robbing.
